Leora Alexander//ליאורה אלכסנדר
Mixed Media Artist
Leora transforms urban situations into layered paintings, on spaced sheets of plexiglass. She has developed her own method of creating 3d images, by researching and exploring materials and transparency, and dividing a picture into planes.
Kiryat Hamelacha has been an inspiration for her artwork. For the past four years she has been photographing the transformation of the Kirya into a cultural and art venue, capturing compositions that emerge in its state of neglect and decay..
Outdoor staircases in and around the site, mostly broken, faded and covered in layers of dirt, were the topic of Leora's works that were exhibited at Beit Haamanim in May 2019.
